I’m gong to be reading the book of Job over the next (probably 40) few weeks because I feel that it is an important story that diffuses some of the myths about hardship. One myth is that you are not a child of God or you are in current sin/disobedience if you have hardship. Another myth is that everyone who is a child of God is guaranteed lifelong financial prosperity. Both ideas are false, and I think the book of Job is a good reminder to all people that:<br /><br />a. God’s children do suffer sometimes and do not always have financial prosperity<br />b. Anyone could lose everything that he/she has at any moment in time. <br /><br />I’m just going to read it with my primitive equipment. Will probably post a bit every Friday/Saturday. Listen in if you like. God bless.

Obedient People DO Have Hardship Sometimes

Whoever God chooses to speak through He expects His Word to be listened to and obeyed, how much more when He comes down from Heaven Himself and speaks His own Word as a man.

“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, ‘A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall you hear in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.’” (Acts 3:22-23)

The truth is that we all have to do something to get salvation. Repenting is a work if you really want to get technical about it. Video has some examples of Jesus' own words and some people who did indeed "do something." One person chose not to do something, but Jesus still stated that he required it.
