22-year-old viral sensation Kodi Lee performs an incredible rendition of ‘The Sound Of Silence.’ We first met Kodi when he appeared as a contestant on America’s Got Talent. Kodi is blind with Autism. Before his audition, we learned that music completely changed Kodi’s life and gave him an outlet to feel safe and confident. After his emotional performance of ‘A Song For You,’ judge Gabrielle Union was moved to press her golden buzzer. This means that Kodi heads straight to the live shows on AGT. Today, we’re taking a look back at some of this talented young man’s previous cover songs, such as this amazing version of ‘The Sound Of Silence.’ Simon & Garfunkel originally released this song in 1964. Since that time, many artists have lent their voices to the tune. One of the most well known covers comes from the rock band, Disturbed, in 2015. A Cappella group Pentatonix recently released their own version their own version and it skyrocketed in popularity. Today, we’re hearing a powerful rendition from Kodi Lee and it’s absolutely amazing. “Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence” Kodi truly has so much vocal talent. You can definitely tell that there is passion and heart in every single note. I cannot wait to see what this incredible young artist performs next.

Superstars Perform 'Forever And Ever, Amen' With Randy Travis For 60th Birthday

Country superstars join legend Randy Travis onstage for a touching performance of his hit, ‘Forever And Ever, Amen’ at the Grand Ole Opry. Randy Travis first broke onto the music scene in the 1980s. His deep and distinctive voice gave us hits such as ‘Deeper Than The Holler’ and ‘Three Wooden Crosses.’ But everything came to a screeching halt nearly six years ago when Randy almost lost his life after suffering a devastating stroke. It left him in a coma for 72 hours. Even though he couldn’t communicate, Randy could hear and understand everything that was going on around him. He even heard when the doctor’s advised his family that recovery was slim and they should consider pulling the plug. Thankfully, he was able to give his wife, Mary, a sign and from that moment on, he fought to recover. Today, the Grand Ole Opry is celebrating Randy’s 60th birthday with a star-studded tribute. The entire night concluded with a special rendition of his song ‘Forever And Ever, Amen.’ “Oh, baby, I'm gonna love you forever Forever and ever, amen As long as old men sit and talk about the weather As long as old women sit and talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful I'll be happy to tell you again I'm gonna love you forever and ever Forever and ever, amen” Country artists such as Charles Esten, Josh Turner, Charlie Worsham all stand on stage and belt out the iconic lyrics. And at the very end, Randy Travis steps on stage and sings the famous final note. What a birthday celebration.

Carrie Underwood's Husband Mike Fisher Shares Faith

Mike Fisher, former professional hockey player and husband to country superstar Carrie Underwood, shares his moving testimony of faith. Mike grew up in a family of believers. In fact, he gave his life to Christ when he was just six years old. But when he was drafted at the age of seventeen, Mike moved to Canada to play for the Ontario Hockey League. While away from home, he started to live a different life. A few years later, his dream of playing in the National Hockey League came true, but he still felt an emptiness inside. It wasn’t until he was going through the motions at a bible study, led by his cousin, that God spoke right to Mike. They read the verse Luke 9: 23-25 and Mike immediately started to pay attention. “I remember that scripture just kind of hitting me and that was for me because I’d reached my dreams. I had money and everything and thought I was cool and just wasn’t working. And I knew where the answer, but I hadn’t been looking for it in the right places.” That’s when Mike really started to turn his life over to God. “Through a process of just praying and getting in the Word with my cousin, my life was changed. For the first time I remember thinking, ‘Man, this is really real.’” Mike went on to dedicate his life to Christ and enjoy a long and lasting career in the NHL. “It didn’t happen overnight, but slowly God changed me on the inside.”

Woman Carries 55 Pound Dog For 6 Hours To Save His Life

During a difficult hike last summer, a woman found a wounded dog while she was climbing and decided to carry him down the mountain to save his life. She carried this dog on her shoulders for over 6 hours! What an incredible, selfless act to save this precious animal. Tia and 76-year-old her father had already been hiking for three hours last summer and made it to the top of the mountain. While they were climbing down, they crossed paths with an injured dog whose owners were nowhere in sight. “He was pretty beat up,” Tia said. “He couldn’t walk.” She knew that he wouldn’t be able to make it down the treacherous mountain in the shape he was in, so she picked up the 55-pound Springer Spaniel, placed him on her shoulders, and made the descent down the mountain. The hike ended up being 6 miles and took her 6.5 hours to get to the bottom. “We had to hike through snow, we lost the trail at one point,” explains Tia. “It was one of the hardest things that I have done in my life.” At one point during the hike, her father took a picture of her laying down for a break with the dog sitting on her. The weight of the dog with the difficulty of the hike had her almost in tears, and Tia explains how she had to turn to prayer to get through the rest of the hike after her break. “I got underneath him to pick him up to go again, and again felt the tears coming. I said a little prayer at that point, because the weight was hurting my neck, I had a really bad headache, my legs just felt like they were going to crumble at any moment,” Tia shares. “As I said that prayer, I literally felt the weight lift off of my shoulders and I thought ‘Ok, there must be a lost hiker that’s behind me helping me. So, I turned around, probably five or six times, looking for someone. There was nobody there. At that point I knew that divine intervention was happening. I was getting help.” Once she got to the bottom of the mountain, she saw a note about the lost dog, whose name was Boomer. After calling the owners, Tia found out that they had unleashed Boomer while they were hiking, and he had run onto a snow-covered crevasse and slipped off. He had fallen from a one-hundred-foot cliff! Thankfully, only his front paw was badly injured, and an upcoming surgery will hopefully have him using that paw again. Because Boomer’s original owners were moving to Arizona, they had already planned to give him to someone else. But Tia was hoping for another outcome. “It pulled at my heartstrings all night long. When I woke up the next day, my first thought was ‘That dog’s supposed to me mine,’” explains Tia. So, she messaged the owners and explained how much she had bonded with Boomer on the mountain and would really like to keep him. The owners agreed, and now Tia and Boomer are together. She rescued him in his time of need on the mountain, and now she’s nursing him back to health after his accident, in the safety of his new home.

16-Year-Old Rushes To Push Man In Wheelchair Away From Tornado

An inspiring act of kindness from American’s heartland is seen when a 16-year-old boy rushes to push a disabled man in his wheelchair away from the harm of oncoming tornadoes. Seth Phillips knew he had to do something when he saw an older gentleman outside while tornado sirens were going off in his town. They were signaling that tornadoes were about to sweep through Jefferson City, the capital of Missouri. And after seeing pictures of the aftermath of that storm, those tornadoes were deadly and tore up everything that was in their path. The man in the wheelchair, a double amputee who is also legally blind, didn’t have enough time to get to safety, and that is when Seth stepped in. He was in his mother’s car and jumped right out to help the man. Since the car was not very big and it may have been difficult to transfer the man and his wheelchair into the car, Seth came up with a plan of action. He starts running and pushing the wheelchair up a large hill to get the man out of harm’s way. “My biggest fear was that this man wouldn’t make it home and he wouldn’t be alright,” explains Seth. While Seth is pushing the man uphill, his mother is following behind him in her car and recording his selfless act on her cellphone. “I am incredibly proud of my child,” says Seth’s mom. “He has a very good heart.” Because of Seth’s quick actions, the man in the wheelchair made it to safety. Seth and his mom did as well. Thank goodness! What a Good Samaritan Seth is! And what a great reminder for us all to take care of those in need around us. You never know when you’re helping hand could change someone’s life.

Marine And Stray Dog Form Friendship On The Battlefield

On the battlefields of Afghanistan, a Marine and a stray dog formed the most beautiful and unlikely friendship. And what they have accomplished together since finding each other is inspiring! In 2010, Sergeant Craig Grossi was fighting for our country in a remote and dangerous part of Afghanistan. During the aftermath of one of the battles he fought in, Craig saw a dog hanging out nearby the compound that he was staying at. “I’d be cleaning my gun or getting some water and I’d see him. He’d always make me smile,” explains Craig. “Something in me just told me to go up and approach this little dog. As soon as I got close to him, he started wagging his tail. He was hot, hungry, covered in bugs, and had absolutely no reason to show me any trust or love, but he did it right away. From that moment on, he followed me everywhere that I went.” Craig named the dog Fred and they became the closest of friends. But it wasn’t just Craig who loved having Fred around. The other Marines with him benefited from having Fred nearby as well. “The Marines that I was with, most of these guys have been deployed way more than me, and they have seen their fair share of street dog, but they, too, were not immune to Fred,” Craig says. “Whether it was 5 minuets or 5 seconds, when you spent time with Fred, he just stabilized us. He brought us almost a little piece of home.” When Craig’s time to leave the warzone came, he knew he had to take Fred with him. So, he ended up sneaking Fred into a duffle bag and bringing him on a helicopter with him on his ride back to base! Then he sent Fred to the U.S. to live with his family for four months until he was able to return to American soil. Adjusting to civilian life had some difficulties for Craig, and he found himself very unhappy with his life after coming back from war. But just like Fred helped Craig while he was in Afghanistan, he also came to his rescue when he was working in Washington, D.C. “I started walking Fred around D.C. and little by little I started sharing our story with people at the dog park, people on the streets of D.C. when I lived in the city,” Craig shares. “The more I told it to people, the more I realized I loved telling it, and the more I realized people love hearing it.” He soon turned his verbal stories into written ones, which soon became a book titled ‘Craig & Fred: A Marine, A Stray Dog, and How They Rescued Each Other'. “The more I wrote, the better I felt,” explains Craig. “I realized it was kind of my duty to share this story, because there are so many ways that it could have gone really wrong for both of us, and the fact that it didn’t, it’s kind of our place to do our part to share it.” Craig and Fred also tour around the country now, sharing the amazing story of their friendship at schools, libraries, and events. And they are doing such a great job at encouraging and inspiring others and remind people that “we can always dig deep and find a reason to wag our tails.”
