What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. According to many believers, the world just keeps getting worse and worse, it’s like waking up to a nightmare. The depravity surrounding us knows no end. I spoke to one woman who told me – I came here after WWII and I thought I had arrived in heaven. Now I think I’m living in hell. It’s enough that Christians compare their situation to the Babylonian captivity of Israel. They feel powerless. Like a nation domineered in captivity. And like the terrible judgment of God has come down.

I want to counter that perspective. At least for now. At last while we still have time. As citizens of a free country, in fact, we are not powerless and we are not captives. We have everything in our hands, if we wish to live in righteousness and justice, both the political tools we need and the power of the Holy Spirit of God.

This is not North Korea. This is America. I challenge Christians to be bold. To live according to their faith. And to do it together. We have no one to blame but ourselves if we don’t.
