As the school year, sports, and activities fill up our calendars, the pressure to keep up can feel overwhelming. As tonight's prayer and devotional reminds us, between supply runs, carpools, and endless sign-ups, our schedules quickly balloon with commitments.
Amanda shares how her own family calendar—packed with multiple kids’ needs, sports, and events—reminded her of the importance of pausing before saying yes to just one more thing. Instead of letting the season run us, we can invite God to guide our steps and direct our plans.
Each year, Amanda’s church begins August with 21 days of prayer to prepare for the coming season. Maybe this fall, God is inviting you to pause, pray, and surrender every calendar item into His care. When we do, we find peace, joy, and wisdom for the season ahead.
Tonight’s Scripture: Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”

🙏 Your Nightly Prayer
Father,
Thank You for the opportunities and blessings in the season ahead. Before I fill my calendar, I surrender my plans to You. Guide my steps, open the doors only You can open, and close the ones I’m not meant to walk through. Anchor my heart in peace and joy as I enter this fall. May my schedule reflect not just busyness, but Your purpose.
Amen.
🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon
Which commitments bring true joy and meaning to your life, and which simply drain you? What might you need to release this season?
Consider choosing a set number of days—7, 14, or 21—to pray daily over your calendar and commitments before the fall rush begins.
Pick a key verse to ground you this season. Post it in your home and let it remind you to stay rooted in God’s presence.
In a world of perfectly filtered highlight reels, it’s all too easy to feel behind. We scroll and wonder why everyone else seems joyful, successful, carefree—while we feel stuck, invisible, or delayed. Comparison has a way of whispering lies that steal our joy, distort our identity, and distance us from the truth of God's love.
Tonight’s prayer and devotional is a powerful reminder that God sees you—not the version you think you should be, but you. Your life may look quieter, slower, or harder than others’, but it is no less valuable in His hands.
Inspired by Galatians 6:4, this episode challenges the tendency to measure our lives against others and instead invites us to examine our journey with God’s eyes. Just as Sophia shares how chronic illness once left her feeling behind, she also recounts how God—El Roi, the One who sees—met her in the hidden moments and revealed purpose in the pause.
📖 “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.” — Galatians 6:4
📖 “The Lord watches over all who love him.” — Psalm 145:20
📖 “You are precious and honored in my sight.” — Isaiah 43:4
Lord,
You are the God who sees me, just as You saw Hagar in the wilderness. Help me turn from the lie that others have it better, easier, or more joyful than I do. Instead, open my eyes to where You are at work in my life right now. Teach me to celebrate the growth You are producing in me and to rest in the assurance that I am fully seen, known, and loved by You.
Amen.
What’s the plan? The world will tell you that YOU have to make your own plan for your life! But God has a plan for your life, and our job is to listen to His plan and accept it. How does that make you feel …?

Nobody is here by mistake. Every single one of us was created with purpose. 🙌
Jeremiah 29:11 promises: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God did not put you here just to suffer — He called you to rise above suffering through Christ and turn it into a testimony that gives hope to others.
You don’t have to carry that weight anymore. 🙌
1 Peter 5:7 says: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”
Every burden, every fear, every worry — God wants you free. Lay it down at His feet and trust Him to carry what you cannot. 🌿
"Why do we keep moving forward, even when the world feels heavy with violence and sorrow? Because God’s Word tells us that every person must be given the chance to know Him or reject Him before Christ returns. That is why we keep pressing on — to shine the light of Jesus into the darkness. The moment that last soul has heard, He will return to end pain and suffering forever."
"God promises in His Word that this broken world is not the end. One day He will create a New Heaven and a New Earth, free from pain, tears, and suffering. That hope is not far away — it’s the gift of Jesus Christ for all who believe in Him. You are not here by mistake, and your testimony matters. Choose life, choose Christ, and live for the eternal promise He has prepared for you."
Even in tragedy, God can turn what the enemy meant for harm into good. 🙌
Genesis 50:20 says: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”
The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy — but God is greater. What looks like loss can become the spark of salvation and healing for many. 🌿

Fear is not from God — it’s time to give fear a taste of Holy Spirit power. 🔥
2 Timothy 1:7 says: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Over 300 times the Bible says “Fear not” — because God is with you. Fear is a lie, but faith is victory. 🙌

Matthew 6:25–34 reminds us not to be anxious, but to trust in God’s care.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. … Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be given to you as well. Do not worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
🙏 May this scripture bring you peace and confidence in God’s providence today.
What happened to Charlie Kirk reminds us that opposition to the gospel is real. You may not face the exact same trials, but Christian persecution is already here—and it’s growing. As the day comes to a close, we turn to Psalm 4:8.
‘In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.’
This verse is a reminder that even in times of worry or uncertainty, God is our protector. We can rest peacefully knowing that His presence surrounds us.
May the Lord give you peace and a restful night
Psalm 27:1 reminds us of God’s strength and protection:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
In times of uncertainty, we remember that God is our guide and our peace. 🙏
