Jessica Willis Fisher Sings Emotional Original Song 'My History'

Former lead singer of The Willis Clan, Jessica Willis Fisher, shares an emotional original song titled ‘My History.’ At one time, Jessica seemed to have it all as a member of the popular musical group comprised of her fellow siblings. But behind closed doors, she suffered abuse at the hands of her father. Through strength and courage, she found a way to escape and eventually married a kind and caring man named Sean. For a time, Jessica wondered if her music career was done as she hit a wall in her songwriting. But when she started to use music as a means of healing, everything transformed. What followed is the lyrics of her open and honest song, ‘My History.’ “All my story now belongs to me I will start to build a better life for me No one else will know what I could see I am my survivor and you will be my history oh, I am my survivor and you will be my history oh, I am my survivor and you are just my history” On a blog post, Jessica wrote about the story behind the powerful tune. “As I reached a new level of healing about my past and childhood experiences, I began a song that I struggled to piece together. It took time and there were a number of iterations over the rest of 2017. But once it was finally done, this song succeeding in ushering in a new wave of original art. I was relieved and reaffirmed in my belief that writing and music are beautiful and essential parts of who I am. That is the space I continue to exist in and I am in the thrill of brand new exploration.” Others in a similar situation may be scared to speak up, but these words of hope and healing can offer encouragement and support to many.

The five sisters of Better Together perform a beautiful rendition of the Lauren Daigle hit, ‘You Say.’ This 2018 worship song became a smash hit in both the Christian and secular music scene. It reached the top of the Christian Billboard charts and led to a multitude of covers and interpretations. The powerful words remind us that God provides us with strength and hope when times may seem difficult. “You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And You say I am held when I am falling short And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe, oh I believe What You say of me Oh, I believe” Better Together is a musical ensemble of five siblings. As a group, they have performed numerous hymns and cover songs. Many of their videos have been shared across social media, including this Lauren Daigle cover. Just listen as the sisters belt out the lyrics of ‘You Say’ with a piano accompaniment. What a beautiful reminder that we are so loved by our God in Heaven. Romans 8:37-39 “37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

97-Year-Old Grocery Bagboy Shares Inspirational Work Ethic

97-year-old bagboy Benny Ficeto isn’t letting something like age damper his incredible work ethic. This elderly man from Perth Amboy, New Jersey started working as a shoe shiner when he was just seven. From there, he became a barber before enlisting in the military. Benny fought with the Army Air Force during World War II and eventually ‘retired’ as a warehouse supervisor for a cosmetics company. But this determined man wasn’t about to sit still. Since that moment, Benny has continued to work various jobs to keep busy. Currently, he is a bagboy two days a week at the Stop & Shop in his town. He works for a total of four hours each day and never takes a break. When pressed on the subject, Benny has some strong feelings. "I don't want to stop. Don't tell me how to work. See the light on, that's where I'm going." For Benny, a hard day’s work isn’t about the money. It’s about finding a purpose and putting your all into everything that you do. He said, "I get a feeling that I did something good. You can't just stand around, like an idiot. You have to have a reason to keep alive." Benny even went on to say that he only gets to work four hours a day, so he wants to make the most of every minute. And the customers are more than happy to come through this senior citizen’s line. Benny is truly an example of how age doesn’t have to slow you down.

America's Got Talent Violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa Plays 'Blessed Assurance'

The talented violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa shares his gift of music with us in this video of him playing ‘Blessed Assurance.' And when you hear him play this beautiful hymn, it’s hard to not sing along to the familiar melody. “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine; Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.” Tyler was recognized for his talents on the violin when he was given a golden buzzer by Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent. At just 11 years old, his energy and charisma on stage while he was playing blew the crowd and judges away. Before his audition, he gave the audience a little back story as to how he started playing the violin. When Tyler was just 4 years old, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. The cancer almost took his life, but he was able to fight through it and has been in remission for almost 4 years now. Unfortunately, when Tyler was battling for his life, he also had to deal with being bullied at school. Mean-spirited kids would spread rumors that his cancer was contagious, and children would avoid him at all costs. To deal with the pain from bullying, Tyler decided to take up the violin when he was 7 years old. “When I play the violin, it helps me forget about all the bad stuff,” explains Tyler. “I just didn’t want to be the kid with cancer. So now I’m the kid who plays the violin.” His mother said that once he started playing the violin, all the energy and happiness that her son had before came back. The music brought him back up from his lowest point and gave him new life. What a blessing to see that Tyler is now healthy and using his musical talents to not just bring himself joy, but many other people as well!

Footage Captures Little Boy Falling Through Train Gap

One mother is thankful for the kindness of strangers after her son falls through a train gap. It was a heart-stopping moment at this train station in Australia as passengers wait to board the next train. As the doors opened and people began to walk onto the train, you can see a mother and her young son walk towards the door. And then, in the blink of an eye, the boy falls down into the gap between the platform and the train. If you’ve ever been a passenger on a train, you’ve probably seen or heard warnings that say ‘Mind The Gap.’ These warnings may seem silly, but it is incidents like this that remind us why the signs are there in the first place. As soon as the boy fell, you can see his mother begin to furiously wave her hands to draw the attention of the conductor. She wanted to be sure that the train did not move with her son still underneath. Thankfully, a group of Good Samaritans was able to quickly reach down and pull the little boy to safety. All of this happened in a matter of seconds. Officials in Australia released the video ahead of summer travel to remind parents to keep a watchful eye and hand on their children. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, we can often forget the everyday dangers that surround us. This powerful video serves as a reminder to always be aware of your environmental surroundings, especially in regards to your kids.
