Questioning God When Evil Prevails

Exploring divine justice, historical parallels, and the call to stand for righteousness in a world that tolerates sin.

God is our refuge. How’s that work?

God is our refuge. How’s that work? Where was He when I was in trouble the other day? Where is He now? How am I supposed to believe in a God that doesn’t seem to be around when I need Him? #toughquestionsforgod #godisgood #godislove #faithinjesus

Chris Pratt Prays on Instagram and Urges Fans to Join Him in Prayer

Chris Pratt led a prayer on Instagram and urged fans to join him in prayer. The popular Hollywood actor went on social media and asked people to stop what they were doing and join him in prayer. Watch the short but powerful clip to listen to Chris pray on the social media platform.

Hollywood is generally not considered a place or industry friendly to religion and people of faith. In fact, Hollywood can be downright hostile to religious individuals. Typically, in films and television shows, people of faith are portrayed as dumb, evil or both. On the very rare occasion, the hero, the protagonist, in a movie is a person of faith.

Despite Hollywood's frequent unfriendly portrayal of people of faith, that has not stopped Chris. Chris has spoken of and shared his faith and belief in Jesus Christ on several occasions. In his latest display and demonstration of his faith, Chris took to Instagram, where he prayed and asked others to join him in prayer.

During his prayer, Chris asked the Lord for peace, calm and to help him momentarily lay aside life's many distractions so that he can focus on what really matters.

"Lord, You say, be still and know that I am God, Psalm 46:10," Chris prayed. "Be still and know that I am God. In this moment, please, Lord, calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart. Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace. Isaiah 26:3, You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward You that I find rest and joy in Your presence, amen."

Christian music singer Lauren Daigle commented on Chris's post: "Prayer is a miracle. Something so simple but so powerful."

After his prayer, Chris gave the all-clear for fans to continue looking through social media or, an even better idea, to put their phones down entirely. He suggested people head outside and enjoy the great outdoors and reconnect with a friend.

Psalm 46:10 "Be at peace in the knowledge that I am God: I will be lifted up among the nations, I will be honored through all the earth."

What to Do With Empty Rhetoric: A Christian Conversation

When politicians tweet inflammatory statements about war and suffering, how should Christians respond? This urgent conversation analyzes shocking social media posts from Congress members about the Israel-Gaza conflict and provides a biblical framework for thinking through complex geopolitical issues. James Spencer and Nate examine controversial tweets from Randy Fine and Marjorie Taylor Greene, revealing how soundbites and slogans are replacing thoughtful discourse—and why Christians must think more deeply about justice, war, and human suffering. Read James's article on the topic at https://www.christianity.com/wiki/cur.... What Christians Need to Know: ✅ How to think biblically about war and conflict ✅ Why both political posts miss the mark ✅ The difference between justice and taking sides ✅ How to lament suffering on all sides ✅ Moving beyond soundbites to substantive thinking ✅ Finding better information sources than social media The hosts argue that both politicians' posts are under-informed, lack justification, and function more as slogans than helpful contributions to understanding this complex conflict. They emphasize that war is always a tragedy involving the loss of human life, regardless of justification. Critical Insights: "Soundbites and slogans are replacing thoughtful Christian discourse." "War is always a tragedy involving the loss of human life." "Seek out deeper, more substantive information from better resources than social media." "Christians should pursue justice and lament for all sides, rather than picking a side." Key Principles for Christians: 🙏 Lament suffering regardless of nationality or religion ⚖️ Pursue justice over political alignment 📚 Seek substantive information, not social media soundbites 💔 Recognize the complexity of geopolitical conflicts ✝️ Let Christian values guide political thinking, not vice versa 🕊️ Work for peace while acknowledging the reality of war What This Episode Covers: 📱 Analysis of specific congressional social media posts 🌍 The complexity of the Israel-Gaza conflict ⛪ How Christians should approach political discourse 🧠 Moving beyond emotional reactions to thoughtful analysis 📖 Biblical principles for thinking about war and peace 🤝 Finding common ground in polarized times Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction to the social media controversy 6:30 Randy Fine's controversial tweet analyzed 13:15 Marjorie Taylor Greene's response examined 19:45 Why both posts are problematic 26:20 How Christians should think about war 32:40 The danger of political soundbites 38:55 Biblical principles for complex conflicts 45:10 Finding better information sources 51:25 A call for justice and lament This conversation challenges Christians to move beyond the shallow waters of political soundbites and dive into the deeper work of thinking biblically about complex world events. Rest from a Performative Faith | Your Nightly Prayer

Like the Israelites at the Red Sea (Exodus 14), sometimes God’s call isn’t to fight or run—but to be still. That command feels counterintuitive when fear and striving push us to do more. In tonight's prayer and devotional, we are reminded that spiritual stillness isn’t defeat—it’s trust. Amber Ginter reflects on how many of us live out a performative faith, one that feels like we must continually prove ourselves to God and others. But salvation doesn’t come from our effort; it comes by grace through faith. When we rest in Him, we move from striving to surrender. Being still is one of the deepest acts of obedience. It reorients our hearts from performance to presence. It’s not passive—it’s an active declaration that God is in control and His grace is enough.

Reflections That Save - James 1:19-24

Viewers are encouraged to slow their speech, temper their anger, and receive God’s truth with humility. Like a mirror that reveals but cannot transform, the Word only reshapes us when we respond with action. This reflection is a call to spiritual integrity: to live what we profess and let obedience become the fruit of true faith.

He Sees You Starting Over | Your Nightly Prayer

Starting over isn’t easy. Whether it’s a new job, a relationship, or an unexpected life change, new beginnings can feel overwhelming. In this evening's prayer and devotional, Scripture reminds us that God treasures even the smallest steps forward. Britt Mooney reflects on Abraham, who was called to begin anew at eighty years old. What looked like uncertainty became the foundation of God’s promises to His people. In the same way, our fresh starts, however small or stressful, are never insignificant when placed in God’s hands. God often works through humble beginnings so that His glory shines through. Just as He multiplied loaves and fish, He can take your new season—no matter how fragile—and grow something beautiful and eternal. Don’t despise the small starts. Trust Him to be faithful with them.

A Prayer for When Support Fades | Your Daily Prayer

There are seasons when the people we counted on—friends, family, mentors—seem to step away. Whether through misunderstanding, distance, or disappointment, the support we once felt slips away, and we’re left wondering how to carry the weight alone. But Scripture reminds us that God never leaves us, even when others do. 📖 “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” — Psalm 27:10 📖 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 📖 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5 Today’s prayer invites you to bring your loneliness to the One who sees and stays. God knows your pain. He’s not surprised by the silence or the absence—and He will sustain you through it.

Discipline of Body and Spirit – Kenko Kempo Kata Vitok, by Erich B. Ries

Martial arts can be more than physical movement – they can become a way to honor God with our body, mind, and spirit. The Kenko Kempo Kata from the Vitok system, founded by Grandmaster Erich B. Ries, teaches focus, balance, and perseverance. As Christians, we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Training with discipline and respect can therefore be a form of stewardship, helping us to stay strong and serve others in love. May this demonstration of Kenko Kempo Kata encourage you to grow not only in strength, but also in faith and devotion.

God’s righteousness! Seriously?

God’s righteousness! Seriously? What’s the big deal? OK, so God is so good and holy, but how does that that apply to my daily life? I’m not convinced that it really matters at all … #toughquestionsforgod #godis

Yang 9 Tai Chi Form | Kenko Kempo Vitok Christian – Erich B. Ries

Experience the Yang 9 Tai Chi Form within the tradition of Kenko Kempo Karate – Vitok, created and inspired by Grandmaster Erich B. Ries from Germany. This form is a graceful way to unite body, mind, and spirit while keeping Christ at the center of our lives. Tai Chi, practiced here within Kenko Kempo, becomes not only a path to balance and health but also a prayer in motion. As Scripture says: “In Him we live and move and have our being.” – Acts 17:28 Through these nine flowing steps, we glorify God with our breath and movements, cultivating peace, patience, and faith

Step by Step in Faith – Kenko Kempo Kata (Vitok, by Erich B. Ries)

This step-by-step version of the Kenko Kempo Kata from the Vitok system, founded by Grandmaster Erich B. Ries, is meant to guide students patiently through the form. Just as in martial arts we learn one movement at a time, so in our walk with Christ we grow step by step, day by day. As written in Psalm 37:23-24: “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” May this slow and careful practice remind us that discipline, patience, and faith go hand in hand on the path to strength and peace.

Training with Faith – Kenko Kempo Kata Backview Vitok, by Erich B. Ries

This backview demonstration of the Kenko Kempo Kata from the Vitok system, founded by Grandmaster Erich B. Ries, is designed to help students follow the movements more clearly. In the same way, as followers of Christ we are called to look at life from different perspectives, learning patience, humility, and endurance. As the Bible says in Hebrews 12:11, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” May this video inspire you to strengthen both body and spirit, walking in faith and discipline.

Landlord Walks Tenant Down the Aisle in Beautiful Wedding Moment

A landlord walked a tenant down the aisle in a beautiful wedding moment. Be sure to grab the tissues before checking out this story because it'll likely cause your eyes to spring a leak. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear why a landlord gave a tenant away at her wedding.

Every couple's wedding day is a massive step. Those two people stand at an altar in front of God, their family and their friends and vow to remain together regardless of what life may throw at them. They promise each other that only death will separate them. What could be more beautiful than that?

Weddings are beautiful ceremonies, meant to be remembered and cherished for years to come. Those pictures and videos captured that day will be looked back upon fondly decades later. Nearly every aspect and moment of a wedding ceremony is significant and carries special meaning. In a clip posted on YouTube, a bride explains why she involved an unexpected individual during an important moment during her wedding.

Shacole Fox was set to get married, and everything was perfect. However, something was missing. She explains that she did not know her father, so she was unsure who would walk her down the aisle. The video explains that it became incredibly painful when she thought about that moment.

But then something unexpectedly beautiful and loving happened. Her landlord, 79-year-old Gil Pulliam, said he had an idea that Shacole was stressing out about that moment during her upcoming wedding. So, he asked if he could escort her down the aisle. Shacole responded immediately and enthusiastically, "Yes."

Shacole recalls that moment when Gil walked her down the aisle, saying it was "like a wound had been healed in her heart."

What an absolutely wonderful, beautiful and touching moment. I'm not sure anything will if that doesn't move you to tears.

Galatians 6:10 "So then, as we have the chance, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the family of the faith."

Young Woman Explains How Christ Brings Transformation and Hope

A young woman explained how Jesus Christ brings transformation and hope. She shared her testimony and mentioned how He changed everything in her life. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear her story and how Jesus Christ transformed her life.

We are all sinners. The Bible makes this completely clear, leaving no room to argue otherwise. The book of Romans mentions that all have sinned and fallen well short of God’s glory. We’ve all willingly turned away from Him and His commands, choosing to go about things our own way.

Of course, intentionally going against and ignoring God’s directives and commandments is sin, and the Bible also says that the wages of sin is death. However, Jesus Christ is the one and only factor that can and did change everything. He willfully died, while we were still sinners, giving of Himself so that we might experience eternal life. He gives hope where there is none. He offers love and forgiveness when we deserve condemnation and to be cast out.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a young woman, Madison Prewett Troutt, formerly a contestant on “The Bachelor,” shared how the Lord came into her life and entirely changed everything. He did only what He could do. He accepted her as she was and forgave her, despite her sin and brokenness.

“Jesus Christ changed my life,” she said. “He has absolutely changed my life in every single way. Like, you want peace? Jesus.  You want hope? Jesus. You want love? Jesus. And so many of us are searching for those things, and it can only be found in Jesus.”

Later in the clip, she mentioned that because people look and search for all those things in the wrong places, they are drawn deeper and deeper into sin. But regardless of what we’ve done, we can always turn to Him.

“But I have found true life in Jesus,” she added. “And that’s what I would say, I can preach, and I can teach, and I can encourage from a place of authority because He’s changed my life.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
