Sometimes, God answers our prayers the way we want, but other times, He doesn’t. But even when we receive a “no,” we can thank God and trust that His ways are higher than ours and His thoughts greater than anything we could ever imagine.
Today, look around at the people God has placed in your life. Thank God for sending them to walk beside you, and then take the next step. By thanking God and thanking people too, you can help God’s love flow through your life and into other people’s lives!
Do you ever find it difficult to be happy for others who receive the blessing you wanted? How does knowing that God often answers our desires and prayers better than we imagined give you encouragement today?
If fear is trying to be your companion 24/7, ask God to help you resist it and believe that He is watching over you. If you're praying but not expecting God to answer, ask Him to help you overcome any unbelief in your life.
Whatever you choose, Jesus wants us to come to him like a little child. When we lower our inhibitions and trust him completely, God shines most in our lives.
Remind yourself that fear does not dictate your life. Your life belongs to Jesus, and He will strengthen you through every storm (Isaiah 41:10). Continue to rely on the Holy Spirit, cultivate trust in God, and embrace the fall season rather than the scary parts of Halloween.
Pray for help from God’s Holy Spirit and stand strong in the Holy Spirit’s power as you make your decisions every day. As you choose what’s good, God will use your light to make a real and positive difference in the lives of those around you!
If you ever feel your calm getting tossed around by demands, circumstances, or lies, know that God is offering you a way out. You can choose to protect the peace he gives you.
Don’t be afraid to bring to God your deepest, darkest feelings. It is not unknown to God. In fact, it is downright silly to hide our deepest feelings from God because he knows us so intimately—he even knows how many hairs are on our heads!
When fear tries to distract you, redirect your focus back to God’s promises. Talk to God in prayer and trust God to do everything he promises to do in this powerful verse. No matter how scary it is when fear knocks on your door, you never have to fight the battle alone.
God wrote you a love letter so you would tuck what is possible, divine, and true in your heart and know it well. Especially during times you may feel tempted to look for the worst possible outcome, instead of what his goodness can make happen.
God doesn’t change. The same Savior who remained with the disciples in their fear remains with us in ours as well. The same Messiah who knew precisely when to calm the winds and waves understands when our rescue will impact us most as well.
