The thinking goes that if parents are unhappy in their marriage, they should split rather than remain in a relationship that exposes their children to resentment and conflict at home. But don't fool yourself. Conflict in your relationship with your spouse is unlikely to cease if you get a divorce. Instead, you will just expose your kids to a new form of conflict as you battle over custody, visitation, financial matters, and parenting disagreements.

Do good for your spouse as often as possible. Be dependable, keep your word, and build a solid foundation of trust. Think of these Spiritual fruits as nourishment for the roots of your marriage and enrich the soil with as much goodness and faithfulness as possible.

If we aren't careful, our marriages will grow stale and disconnected for no other reason than that we have neglected to invest in them.

It is here in our resolve to cleave that God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.

Life will constantly shift, banking around sharp curves and sneaking up on us with challenging seasons. But God remains the same.

The opposite of diligence is carelessness. It says we will get to that when we get to it, and when that logic is appliedto marriage, we often find that our marriages become overlooked. While marriage is a sweet gift, it's also veryeasilyput on the back burner as life grows fuller and fuller over time.

Sometimes, we all fall short of exhibiting love and maturity in marriage.

Marriage is not a give and take; it’s a give and receive. Each gives their best and their all to each other, no matter what.
