Las Vegas has made incredible strides when it comes to renovating its “Sin City” reputation into something more family-friendly. These days there are just as many things for non-gamblers, kids, and their parents to do as there are for the bachelors and bachelorettes desperately looking to relive Bradley Cooper and his gang's antics on the Strip. However, if you don’t look hard enough you may find yourself trudging through the same ol’, same ol’ that every other visiting group gets sucked into. I mean, we all love Cirque Du Soleil but please, gimme some more variety. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of some of the more “off the beaten path” wonders for you and yours to explore.

LOST SPIRITS DISTILLERY
Okay, okay, this first one isn’t exactly for the “whole” family. But it’s still really cool and has a growing reputation that is sure to put it on the list of must sees. Until then, make this visually appealing and creatively styled distillery one of the more original stops on your Vegas itinerary.
DIG THIS
We all went through the sandbox phase as kids. Back then, there was nothing like loading up your Tonya truck with sand, moving it a foot and a half and dumping it out. We could do that all day. Well, what if I told you can do it all again, only adult-sized, at Dig This - a sandbox for adults who want to use real tractor diggers to make real big holes in a giant sandbox for overgrown kids?
THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ORGANIZED CRIME AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
Look, Vegas has a checkered past. But, even though the city has given itself a facelift, that doesn’t mean they’re brushing all that other stuff under the rug. This museum gives visitors an up close look at the battles waged worldwide to keep citizens safe, rob them blind, and sometimes just give them a heck of a good time. SIDE NOTE: This museum features the actual wall seven mobsters met their maker up against during the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in Chicago. And you thought this list wasn’t romantic!
THE TITANIC EXHIBITION
Finally, you don’t have to win it all to feel like The King of the World in Las Vegas. No, you can just visit this amazing exhibit at the Luxor Hotel and Casino instead. With recreations and restorations of artifacts dredged up from the icy depths, this surprisingly emotional collection is sure to put a chill up your sign and have you humming a particular Celine Dion tune on your way out.
GONDOLA RIDES AT THE VENETIAN
This may sound a little silly but you just have to take my word on this one. It’s just pure fun. With a faithful recreation of the classic gondolas found in the real Venice, Italy, you can transport yourself and the one you love back through time. Or at least a few thousand miles away, that is.
ZACK BAGAN’S HAUNTED MUSEUM
Ghost hunting is big business these days. While Zac Bagan’s of the bro-tastic knock off of Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, may not be the most serious paranormal investigator he makes up in showmanship what he lacks in scientific acumen. His “Haunted Museum” is a well curated addition to any curious person’s itinerary.
NATIONAL ATOMIC TESTING MUSEUM
The Southwest is kind of a strange place. So of course the US Government did everything in their power to nuke back in the late 40’s to early 60’s, right? Well, finally there’s a place to celebrate that most destructive of forces. Just remember to take some iodine tablets when you go (that’s a joke, it’s totally safe).
THE NEON MUSEUM
When you’re walking down the Vegas Strip at night you may as well be taking a stroll in the middle of the day. While that may sound normal to us now it was certainly not always the way things were. Vegas owes a lot to the history of the Neon Light and there’s no more fitting tribute than this bright and shiny jaunt down memory lane.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I love visiting Las Vegas because it’s always evolving. But do your homework and be prepared to have a fun-loving good time in Las Vegas. I’ll see you in line at security!
